NTT DocoMo announced today it will launch the BlackBerry Internet Service for direct connection to the Internet without the need for a dedicated server on August 1. Responding to requests from individuals and small to midsize businesses, NTT DocoMo will make the service available. Interestingly, it woorks on the BlackBerry 8707h smartphone. The upcoming BlackBerry Thunder has now been exposed. An anonymous tipster has leaked some photos of the new device to BlackBerrySync. The pictures feature the new BlackBerry media player that will access a carrier branded music store from which BlackBerry Thunder owners can download media from.
The BlackBerry Thunder features a 360x480 touchscreen display and will run on OS 4.7. Users will be able to watch movies in landscape mode just like the iPhone.

Rumor has it that the BlackBerry KickStart will be released by T-Mobile for $50. That would be an incredibly low price for the first BlackBerry flip phone. The $50 price tag would come with a 2-year contract agreement. The release date is said to be September 2008.
At $50 the KickStart would seriously challenge Palm's Centro. Palm has had great success with the Centro due to it's low price point. Can RIM nudge Palm out of the way with a $50 BlackBerry? We'll find out....read more
A German supermarket chain has introduced a new way to checkout your items. In the new chain of stores, customers can pay for their purchases with a specially adapted mobile telephone.
"The Future Store" was recently opened near Duesseldorf. Customers pick up a specially adapted phone when they come to the store. Google has just launched voice searching for their Google Maps service. Interestingly, only the BlackBerry Pearl is supported at this time. The Blackberry 8110, 8120 and 8130 (US Only) are the only phones that support the voice search.

According to BlackBerry News the BlackBerry Javelin will head to T-Mobile. Recent API for the device includes T-Mobile WLAN error codes obviously indicating which carrier will get the Javelin.

According to BGR (who usually gets these things right) the BlackBerry Bold is delayed on AT&T until at least mid-August. It seems RIM and AT&T are having software issues with battery life and overheating issues.

A leaked Sprint document shows the carrier will release a red version of the BlackBerry 8330 Curve on July 13. The red curve will be the second color option by Sprint. Users also have a choice of the standard Titanium color.

A recent rumor says that Canadian customers will get the BlackBerry Bold much earlier than US AT&T customers. According to The Boy Genius Report Rogers may launch the BlackBerry Bold as early as June 25. Most reports about AT&T's release date put the BB Bold in the July/August time frame.
