Pygmy Pouch - The Everywhere Performance Pouch
Accessory Reviews

It's always a challenge to review PDA cases because they all basically do the same thing. With that said, there are differences in things like quality, size, durability, and of course price. These are the things that I look to in purchasing a case for my PDAs.

Today I am reviewing the Pygmy Pouch Roadfisher series case. They call it the "Everywhere Performance Pouch."

At first glance the pouch looks like any other pda case. It's a black pouch, 6.25" x 4.25" with a flap that is held closed with velcro. It does however have some interesting features. This Pouch is very roomy. I've heard that a lot of Clie users are choosing this case because it can fit even the larger devices. I put a Palm i705 in it and there was loads of room.

On the inside of the pouch there is a large elastic strap that holds your PDA in place. This is a good idea but, there is a small problem that I see. The Pouch includes a plastic clip on the back so you can clip the pouch to your belt or pants (good idea). The problem is that the clip is exposed on the inside of the pouch and could "possibly" scratch your PDA. I hope they will cover the exposed clip in future versions of the case. With that said, I would just not use the elastic to hold my PDA in place. I would use the elastic to hold other things in place while leaving my PDA in front of the elastic. The PDA will still be protected but will not be scratched by the plastic clip.

There is enough room in there to hold my PDA with a small mp3 player as well. In that case, you could use the elastic strap to separate the two devices but again, just be careful of the exposed clip.

The front of the Pouch features a small pocket which could be used to hold headphones, batteries, SD cards, or whatever. Be careful not to put anything in there that you absolutely couldn't afford to lose. The pocket isn't sealed with a zipper or anything so you could drop something. I think it would be perfect for a small set of headphones though.

If you're someone who uses several PDAs, or are planning to purchase more than one PDA, this case will work well. You can use one case for multiple devices because it's so roomy, and therefore flexible. The case sells for $19.95 and can be purchased from pygmypouch.com.

    Pygmy Pouch
I think a very important fact was left out of this review and that is this item is heavily padded and does very well at protecting the device inside from drops and other every day jolts. I keep my iPaq 3835 in it's sleeve in the case with room to sp...more
